Urban Beach Marina Dock Clock Old Port of Montreal

The Old Port Society has announced on Wednesday the construction of an urban beach on the Quai de l’Horloge by summer 2012.

Sand, deck chairs, umbrellas and fountains should be located along a boardwalk that will be constructed around the site. The range achieved by the landscape architect Claude Cormier, will accommodate up to 800 people, but we can not swim, however, due to strong currents. The bill is expected to reach $ 4 million

The project is part of a broader redevelopment of the area around the St. Lawrence which includes the transformation of Hangar 16 at the fairgrounds, and the extension of the promenade of the Old Port to the east. The goal is to make these investments within five years, to celebrate the 375th anniversary of Montreal and the 150th anniversary of Canada.
